I was tired and I wanted Japanese food near my hotel. I ordered Stir Fried Morning Glory, a California Roll, and three Sashimi dishes (Toro, Hamichi, and Salmon). Eating morning glory was. First for me. I loved it. While the dish had some heat, it was manageable and a nice contrast to the cool sashimi. The Sashimi pieces of which there were 5 of each were significantly larger than those I would get in California. Their appearance was exactly as expected for color and glean. I enjoyed their texture. Overall good to very good. The California roll is something I order to help judge the base line. It's size was enormous and the components were larger than usual allowing for greater crunch and flavor of each ingredient. What I didn't understand was that the roll also contained rolled egg omelette. It didn't add anything to the flavors. I didn't mind it being there but I think it's purposes was to help create volume. I ate the entirety of everything. I went early on Monday night so the restaurant was not crowded. The menu is voluminous and not just Japanese. I am glad I went to Hokkaido Sushi Izakaya Ezoya.

I was teleported to Tokyo... It was that good. Big fat fresh sushi, the grilled eel was buttery and perfectly grilled and the beer was cold too. I have ZERO complaints.
Relax. Cozy. Seems they have a Japanese boss/manager. So you can feel the Japanese style management. Over half are Japanese customer. So they have good quality yet reasonable price
Great choice of japanese sake. Good food and good atmosphere. Cozy and not too loud for a business talk
